Who we are

Rooted Solutions Arboriculture Ltd was founded by Jonathan Worden, a professional consulting arboriculturist who began his career working as an arborist from 2013. Those early years on the tools provided a solid understanding of tree biology, structure, and practical safety.

From 2018 onwards Jonathan moved into consultancy and large-scale tree stock management, overseeing thousands of trees for one of the UK’s largest housing associations. Managing such a vast and varied tree portfolio honed his approach to proportionate risk assessment, budget-conscious planning, and the real-world challenges of estate tree management.

He later transitioned into the infrastructure and utility sectors, where he gained extensive experience working alongside engineers and contractors on complex linear schemes. This is where he “cut his teeth” in applied arboriculture, supervising excavation works within Root Protection Areas (RPAs), managing tree protection on live construction sites, and developing a first-hand understanding of root morphology in the built environment. Jonathan’s familiarity with techniques such as vacuum excavation, air spading, and directional drilling gives him practical insight into how roots respond to changes below ground.

Rooted Solutions was built around those experiences: a consultancy that bridges the gap between field knowledge and professional, scientific reporting. Every survey and assessment is evidence-based, proportionate, and written with the practical realities of site operations in mind.

Today, the company supports clients nationwide with reliable, BS-compliant arboricultural advice for planning, infrastructure, and long-term tree management.
